I had a decent stay at Gangnam Boutique Hotel Sohsul, but there were definitely some downsides. The location was a highlight, being just a stone's throw away from the subway, which made it super easy to get around. However, I wasn't too thrilled with the service; the staff seemed a bit perfunctory and not very eager to help. Overall, it felt a bit overpriced given the experience I had.

The Suite Double Room was pretty standard; spacious enough but nothing extraordinary. One issue was that the USB ports didn't work, and the cleanliness could use some improvement. I also got some bites after sleeping in the bed, which was concerning.
Service
6.0
I found the staff's attitude to be a bit hit or miss. They were polite but not very helpful, especially when I asked for breakfast recommendations. It felt like they just directed me to look around outside without offering much assistance.
Location

This hotel is in a great spot next to Nambu subway station, which is super convenient. Plus, there are loads of cute cafes and restaurants nearby. However, it is about 20 minutes from the main action in the city, which might be a downside for some.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was a bit limited, and we weren't able to make reservations during our stay. There were a decent amount of dining options nearby, but I wish the hotel provided better recommendations.
Facilities

The hotel had typical boutique hotel amenities, but the lift and carpets showed signs of wear. It would be nice to see some improvements in these areas for a better overall feel.

6.0/10

I recently stayed at Gangnam Boutique Hotel Sohsul for 4 nights and had a generally pleasant experience. The hotel's location was fantastic, sitting right next to the subway line, which made accessing historical sites a breeze. However, I noticed that noise isolation could be improved as I could hear neighbors at various times, and some textiles in the hotel seemed worn out. Overall, the combination of friendly staff and a cozy environment made for a nice stay, even though there were a few drawbacks.

Rooms

The Deluxe Double Room was big and comfy, with a very nice bathroom. I did find the window facing the building next door offered little in terms of natural light, but the cleanliness was impressive throughout my stay.
Service
9.0
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They always had a good attitude and were eager to assist with any requests, which enhanced my stay.
Location

The location of the hotel is excellent, right next to the subway station and close to cute restaurants and the arts center. It made exploring the city much easier.
Dining

I found the dining options limited, especially the breakfast, which had a minimal selection. However, the light bites I ordered to the room were delicious.
Facilities

The facilities included attentive housekeeping and valet parking. The welcome drink was a nice touch, elevating my boutique hotel experience.

7.4/10

I had a mix of experiences during my stay at the Gangnam Boutique Hotel Sohsul. The location was excellent, with easy access to the metro and various restaurants nearby. However, I found the service to be somewhat lacking, and the cleanliness of the hotel could use some improvement, particularly in the bathrooms. Overall, it was an adequate experience, but I felt the hotel was overpriced for what it offered.

Rooms
7.0
The suite I stayed in was adequate but had some issues like non-functional USB ports and I experienced bites after sleeping in the bed. My family and I also requested rooms close together but ended up on separate floors, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
While some staff members were polite, the overall service felt a bit perfunctory. I tried to make breakfast reservations upon arrival but was told they were fully booked for three days, and when I asked for restaurant recommendations, I was advised just to look on the street.
Location
8.0
The hotel is conveniently located next to the subway, making it easy to access key sights in Seoul. It's also close to the arts center and several dining options, which was a nice perk.
Dining
8.0
The breakfast was definitely a highlight, but I feel like it wasn't well communicated that the high-quality breakfast option was available. It would help future guests if this was shared more clearly.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had some nice boutique touches but also displayed signs of wear like stained carpets and lift wall textiles. The housekeeping did a decent job, but overall, the facilities felt like they needed some updates.

I had a lovely stay at Gangnam Boutique Hotel Sohsul. The location was fantastic, just a stone's throw from the subway and surrounded by cozy cafes and restaurants. My Suite Double Room was comfortable and quiet, with charming details that made it a joy to return after a day out. However, I noticed some issues with soundproofing at night, hearing occasional noises from above. Overall, it's a great boutique experience! 😊

5.0/10

My stay at Gangnam Boutique Hotel Sohsul had its ups and downs. The quirky hotel is relatively comfortable, and the central location allows for easy access to shopping and restaurants. However, the dated decor and lack of natural light in my room made it less inviting than I'd hoped.

Rooms
7.0
The Deluxe Double Room felt a bit claustrophobic due to the absence of proper daylight. Though the room had a soft large bed and warm lighting, it did lack a view from the window, which was disappointing.
Service
8.0
The service staff were generally polite and helpful, which made for a pleasant experience. However, I found some communication could improve, particularly concerning breakfast options.
Location
7.5
The location is not too far from key shopping areas in Gangnam, with a convenient 10-20 minute taxi ride. It’s also close to several restaurants and a metro station, although it's a bit distant from other popular districts.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was not included during my stay, which I found disappointing. When it is available, I've heard it's really delicious, but it wasn’t adequately communicated.
Facilities
7.0
Housekeeping was efficient, and I appreciated the welcome drink upon arrival. However, the lack of fruits and the limited breakfast options could be a drawback for some.
